Kent Men of the Trees has been actively planting trees in Kent for 30 years, mainly in schools and local communities; we have records of over 20,000 trees planted across the county. In addition, we have always enabled our members to learn about the importance of trees of all types through our guided visits to specialist collections and arboreta across the United Kingdom.
We hope you wish to ensure this work will continue for years to come, so every gift, no matter how big or small, will be used to enable your charity to continue its work to plant and further the appreciation of trees in Kent.
It’s a good idea to keep your Will up-to-date.
Having an up-to-date Will is the only way to ensure that you look after the causes that are important to you. We recommend that you seek legal advice to ensure your wishes are just as you want them and any changes you make to your Will are legally effective.
Should you choose to leave a gift to Kent Men of the Trees, this is our Charity number: 1203852
You can arrange your gift in different ways:
- A residuary gift is made from what is left over once gifts of money and items have been distributed, and any debts and taxes paid. You can give the whole of the residue, or a portion of it, to a person or a charity such as Kent Men of the Trees.
- A pecuniary gift is a specified sum of money. To ensure that it keeps its value over the years, you can ask your solicitor to make it index-linked.
Minimising inheritance tax liability
If you leave a gift in your Will to charity, you may be able to reduce your inheritance tax liability. We recommend talking to your solicitor or HMRC for further advice and information.
